kodamo updater
| Barbi89 | Good morning, I can't update the kodamo updater on my Mac M1 even by following the instructions. My Mac only offers me to put the file in the trash. Thank you for your help |
KODAMO![]() | Hello, Please follow that procedure as indicated here: https://kodamo.org/downloads/kup-howto-readme.pdf |
| Barbi89 | I followed this procedure but it doesn't work |
KODAMO![]() | What is your version of MacOS ? |
| Lizel | Sonoma. It says "“kup.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin." Downloaded a second time and it instantly crashes when I try to open it. |
| Barbi89 | My version of Mac OS is Tahoe 26.0.1 |
dreikelvin![]() | Got the same message. I use the app "Sentinel" by a dev called alienator88 to remove the quarantine protection by MacOS. Alternatively, there's a certain Terminal command that you can do but it's a bit tricky for most people. Hopefully, the Kodamo devs will be able to offer a signed app in the near future. |
| Barbi89 | Thank you for the information but we must hope that KODAMO offers a solution quickly |
| Lizel | I dont think it is about the protection in this case. The package seems to be broken. |
KODAMO![]() | After checking, this is due to Apple preventing self-signed apps to work on newest versions. This is a very anti-consumer decision, trying to lock developers in to pay a fee every year. Unfortunately for now, the only workaround is to use the app Sentinel, or to use an older MacOS version. Or to use a PC to do the upgrade. In the future we might register to the Apple Developer Program to be able to release officially signed apps, but it is not something we can do now as a fix. |
dreikelvin![]() | The TE KO-33 has an update utility that works straight from the browser - is that a possibility for Kodamo devices as well? It could help bypass that whole app-signing debacle alltogether. |
KODAMO![]() | That's a great idea, we are looking into this currently |
Avi F![]() | Don't know where to put this, but thank you for the update! Had no issues (I have currently mac Intel os 13.7) |
