Making edit parameters cycle through endlessly?
| mzrs | I just received an EXMK1 but this would apply to any of them: would it be possible to make it so the scrolling through the parameters with the Parameter buttons is endless, i.e., when you get to the end of say, the Filter parameters it jumps back to Cutoff? This would make editing SO much faster synth since you wouldn't have to go backwards (unless you wanted to). You could just keep continuously scrolling forward through the parameter "row" (the Roland Alpha Juno works in a similar way, but goes through all parameters, not just a subset). And just to give an example of why this is helpful: say you get to the end of the Filter parameters (HP4 setting) and now you want to change Cutoff. Ideally you'd just push the parameter button right once instead of having to go all the way back to the beginning (multiple clicks). This also makes it easier to memorize the order of the parameters for even faster editing. |
KODAMO![]() | It works that way on purpose to offer two ways of exploring parameters : - Pressing parameter buttons allow to know where you are without looking at the display (press << a few times and you're on the first parameter). It is especially helpful when you built some muscle memory, usually it is my preferred way of operating, because you count clicks instead of reading the display. It's extremely fast - Pressing any section button (Osc1, Osc2 etc) provide an endless scrolling as you describe. It can be useful sometimes, but usually it is just quicker to press << or >> because there aren't that many parameters |
| mzrs | ok, thanks, good to hear this was deliberate. And I actually realised about the parameter section buttons after I wrote this, which was a nice discovery :) |
