Main encoder is jumpy
jemmons | Posted on Sun 07 Sep 2025, 01:21 AM Hey all,The main encoder/jog wheel thing on my EssenseFM mkI has gotten all jumpy. I was going to take the cap off to see if I could tighten it up or clean it with some deoxit, but man, after applying pretty firm pressure on both sides of the cap to pull it straight off, it’s still stuck on their pretty tight. I hesitate pulling any harder for fear of breaking something. So: 1) how do I get the main encoder cap off of mkI? and 2) is cleaning it likely to fix the issue, or should I be thinking about replacing it? And finally, 3) if I should replace it, do you have the part number handy? Many thanks!! |
