Update problem (Essence FM MKII)
Mod:e | Hi, First of all, a huge thank you and bravo to the team for the wonderful projects you are carrying out. I still love my Essence FM. :-) I've been working on the 2021 version since 2021 and am only now getting around to updating my synth... except that no matter how hard I try to follow the site's recommendations, my synth tells me “Cannot find any drive”. I've formatted my usb key in exFat as well as Fat32, but to no avail, the Essence FM doesn't recognize my key. Can anyone think of another way of doing this? I'm on Mac OS 12.5. Thanks in advance for your feedback. |
pandar1 | 1) try other flash drives 2) try to format and copy the firmware file on a windows machine 3) check the name of the upgrade file (name is efm_fw.bin check no extension are added; on a windows machine please check the "show file name extension" in the view menu of the windows explorer window of the usb drive) 4) the file should be in the root folder of the usb drive. |
KODAMO | Perfect recommendations from pandar1, we are sorry for the inconvenience but old firmwares did not support a lot of USB drives, this will be way better once you manage to update it. Try the oldest USB drive you can find, like 1GB drives or even less, they are much more likely to work. |
