TS or strictly TRS ?
uSeq | Basically, my question is about whether I should use only TRS cables to plug into EFM's outputs, or it is acceptable to use TS as well? Unfortunately, I don't have enough cables with TRS connectors, but too many with TS. |
pandar1 | From the manual: Audio Output Pairs from 1 to 4 (ΒΌ inch / 6,35 mm TRS phone jacks): Each pair can operate as a stereo output (see Effects and Routing section) or two mono ones. Each output delivers a balanced signal, but still can be connected to an unbalanced TS jack. |
| uSeq | Yes, I know about that part from the user manual, but I thought it meant EFM'S balanced outs can be connected to unbalanced mixer inputs etc. - that sort of thing. So this means I can use cables with unbalanced jacks to plug into EFM'S outputs? |
| pandar1 | If you connect to an unbalanced input the ring and sleeve are short circuited anyway, either if you are using a balanced cable or an unbalanced one |
