My Mask1 arrived today…it’s exceptional!

T-Fat	Posted on Wed 20 Mar 2024, 04:52 AM Just got my Mask1 today….I am beyond impressed. It’s so good sounding and I think the sequencer is perfect. Step sequencers are a dime a dozen, the Mask1’s Sequencer actually captures nuanced playing and it’s awesome to play over the top of it! I currently can’t think of feature requests for the step sequencer as it is day 1 but I will post if I have any that are related or for other parts of the synth. I’d just like to thank the Kodamo team for creating such a beautiful instrument. What features do other users love about it whether pertaining to sound design or the hardware or the playability. I’d love to hear about them! Happy playing! (Also, Kodamo, don’t listen/read all the ignorant haters who don’t understand the vision your team had for this instrument…it’s an absolute breath of fresh air and is already a future classic in my book 🤟)
Avi F	Posted on Wed 20 Mar 2024, 11:19 PM I really like how bitmask oscillators sound when i blend them together. The keybed is fabulous, too. And just the oscillators themselves sounds really clean. The bitcrush effect im also definitely a fan of. I like the loop sequencer too especially because it records parameters ( I think). Admittedly I've not played with that as much because I've been busy programming all sorts of other stuff also. But actually I really like the lfo and arpeggiator modes, which are not typically what I hear from other synths. The recent updates are insane actually. . . I have mine connected to a midi control surface so I've now got a knob per function because kodamo made most controls on this synth cc mappable which I actually love as much as the way it sounds.
AndH123	Posted on Thu 21 Mar 2024, 01:35 PM The new firmware is amazing....the looping delta envelopes on the masks really opens the synth up! The LFO's modulating mask value can be a pretty choppy sounding, which can certainly be cool, but with the delta envelopes acting like lfo's now, much smoother inter-mask transitions are possible. The whole thing can function more like a wavetable synth, but with an extremely unique character. Kudos for Kodamo. I've been playing the Mask 1 any time I sit down with my gear for days!
