Encoders not working properly
mbang | Posted on Thu 03 Nov 2022, 11:25 PM H have a Esssence mk1 which has worked fined since i got it. Just yesterday installed latest FW.Today i realized when i was fiddling around that all encoders behave in a weird way. They data dont change properly when i turn the encoder. It kind of jumps a bit forward and backward... i get to my target eventually but its slow and without precision. I havent used the unit much since i got it. Maybe 6 hours in total, and just in the studio, where i take proper care of my gear. I dont know.. just realized after the upgrade, but it might just aswell have been present before it too. Its just like the encoders have been worn out! but with the little use, its not possible. Any ideas? I am not a stranger to replace them if i get a good guide and some good replacement parts and such. Might it be a software issue of course but they are rare i think... Please help! Marcus |
KODAMO | Posted on Tue 08 Nov 2022, 11:56 PM It's indeed a software issue. First MK1 units ever produced (low serial number) do not use the best method to read the knob position, as a result they may appear unreliable after some time.If any people have this issue we'll take the unit back and fix it. It requires a manual firmware updated of a specific chip in the EssenceFM. |
