visualisation of 'clipping' in perf mode +more q's

phosphenes
perf mode: effects and routing: when adjusting the mix of a performance, the output can be quite easy to overload with 'digital gain' settings (especially when applying distortion fx in parallel, basically anything above 1% 'digital gain' was causing the output to clip if set up with high gain).

Would it be possible to get the performance parts to flash yellow/red when they start clipping the output? It would make setting up a mix (relative to other performances & their fx chains) so much easier, as you wouldn't have to jump back and forth between global audio 'monitor' & 'option' settings to know when things are clipping & at a standard global 'digital gain' %.

Also, global 'digital gain' settings drastically alter the sounds of the distortion fx. Guess this aspect of the gain staging is by design?

Only a global 'digital gain' setting of 1% has managed to stay below '0.0' (clipping?) when applying high gain via distortion (would really recommend chaining distortions! it sounds great on drums!).

Any further info on what happens when an output hits '0.0' would also be much appreciated. Are really loud signals hitting an internal limiter? Is a 0.0 signal clipping the converter chips?

Hi
Late reply but,
Yes, any loud signal will clip just before it enters the DAC.
Next firmware will display the top menu texts in red if clipping happens, so you can see if something is too loud no matter where you are.

It's a bit of a weird behavior. Ideally distortion shouldn't be affected by digital gain, but if we change that now people may notice a difference in their sound after the upgrade. Not sure if we will change it
