Portamento speed not saved
DX100 | Posted on Tue 01 Jun 2021, 01:40 PM Portamento speed and mono is not saved per patch? |
KODAMO | Posted on Tue 01 Jun 2021, 03:03 PM No, this is saved per Part (inside a Performance) |
DX100 | Posted on Wed 02 Jun 2021, 10:39 PM Yes, this makes sense on one level but then when the portamento is integral to the voice doesn't make sense. |
Blipmusik | Posted on Sun 14 Nov 2021, 07:44 PM Yes, if possible, please, please implement polyphonic portamento. It is available in my elderly DX 100 which I've had since 1985 (and is now slightly shaky), and it seems like it's available in the Korg Opsix (the Opsix menu has it as "Poly Legato"). When programmed carefully and played tastefully, it can be very beautiful indeed, as demonstrated here in the Sonicstate demo of that instrument (From 8:30): To be able to create this kind of polyphonic glide patch with four sine operators and slight detuning between the operators gives a lovely shimmer and melancholy that is hard to beat, especially with moderate reverb. While it makes sense for monophonic voices to have glide, I'd love to have glide availeble for polyphonic sounds as well in the EssenceFM or keyboard based successors thereof. Blipmusik Thank you 😍 |
TimeToPushButtons | Posted on Tue 21 Dec 2021, 12:51 AM Yes polyphonic portamento please |
KODAMO | Posted on Thu 23 Dec 2021, 11:41 PM Yes polyphonic portamento please 😉 |
Colin Muir Dorward | Posted on Mon 27 Dec 2021, 11:50 PM Shouldn't portamento be at the voice level? For example a patch should be able to layer a portamento voice along with a non-portamento voice. This is not currently possible, correct? |
KODAMO | Posted on Tue 28 Dec 2021, 01:16 AM This is possible by using a performance. Since portamento is handled at the part level, simply put several parts on the same MIDI channel to stack them, with different portamento settings. Handling this per voice won't be possible. |
Colin Muir Dorward | Posted on Wed 29 Dec 2021, 12:20 AM Ah well, it's still my best synth 😜 |
