Unable to update firmware on Mask1 EX MK2
Gerald | I have tried to update the firmware using Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, but to no avail .... When I open the Web Updater, the console shows "Auto-selected MIDI output: Mask1EX MK2 USB MIDI", which is also shown under "MIDI Output". After clicking on "FLASH MASK1 EX MK2", the message "There are no compatible devices" (in German) is shown, and this is the log output: [18:26:24] Downloading package kodamo_MASK1 EX MK2_1.5.kup for MASK1 EX MK2. Under MIDI Output, the Mask1 disappears, the device is unresponsive, and I can only turn it off by disconnecting the USB cable. |
KODAMO | When you click on "Flash Mask1", your browser will show a popup where you have to select DFU device. You have to validate this to continue. The fact the device is unresponsive is normal until you finish the procedure, or remove power. Never remove power once the flash procedure has started. | KODAMO | What OS do you have? Mask1EX MK2 disappearing after clicking Flash is normal, what you should have in that popup is something called "DFU in FS mode" Maybe your browser prevents this by default, see if that helps: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/12576972?hl=en |
| Gerald | I'm using Windows 11, and the Chrome help page didn't help. Kodamo.org is already included, with USB and MIDI etc. permitted. |
| KODAMO | Maybe the driver for that is broken on your system, you can try fixing it with Zadig: https://zadig.akeo.ie/ - Do the Mask1EX MK2 update and leave it connected once the display turns off - Run Zadig - In the menu, Option > List All Devices - Select the DFU item in the list - Click to Install driver - Try the Mask1EX MK2 update again |
