Key Vol Scale
Javelin276 | Posted on Tue 15 Sep 2020, 04:32 PM Hi Guys, On the Piano and Guitar patches I've worked on it would have been nice to have a curved Key_Vol_Scale option, where the right extreme end curved more sharply to increase the change in level at the very top of the keyboard. Right now we have a straight line only. I have it drawn, but no way to attach a picture to this post. |
KODAMO | Posted on Sat 19 Sep 2020, 02:13 PM Hi,We agree that would be useful. The current curve is exponential (even if the interface suggests it's linear), adding at least a Linear alternative would be interesting and it would match the Linear/Exp options already existing for envelopes |
Javelin276 | Posted on Sat 19 Sep 2020, 06:13 PM Is it exponential large change in the middle, less change at the high end of the keyboard, or is it the other way around? I need the large change at the TOP end of the keyboard, not in the middle. |
KODAMO | Posted on Sat 19 Sep 2020, 06:49 PM The change become smaller as you get above the center note, it was made this way because usually that's what happen in acoustic instruments as you play higher notes (harmonic content progressively decreasing)You can also try a combination of key scaling + modulation matrix (note number => operator volume) to see if you find a sweet sport for your needs |
Javelin276 | Posted on Sat 19 Sep 2020, 08:26 PM Yes, the harmonic content decreases as you play higher notes, but it decreases non-linearly. The harmonic content drops more dramatically above C6 than it does down around C3 on a Piano and a Guitar. I just wanted a larger change per note change up high, hence the curve diving more sharply at the right end of the keyboard. Is that more clear? |
