Envelope view question
Tonyd![]() | Posted on 17 Jun 2022, 06:22 PM Hi everyone!I’ve just recently acquired a mk2 and so far I am really enjoying it. This is my first fm synth but have been into synths for roughly 10 years starting with a modular. I’m curious if there’s a possibility to switch the grid on the envelope section to represent musical divisions as opposed to overall length of time? Maybe it doesn’t make sense and can’t work this way but as I was programming a sound yesterday I thought it could be useful to be able to align the different break points with for example 1/4 notes. Thanks for the amazing synth Kodamo I am truly impressed and inspired by this new world of sound exploration. |

KODAMO![]() | Posted on 19 Jun 2022, 01:01 AM This is a great idea but there are two reasons why it cannot be done :- The segment durations are exponential. If you stretch en envelope segment to be double the size on the display, it will be much more than double the length in seconds. This is done to provide easy access to short and long envelopes without having to constantly zoom in/out the display. But as a side-effect, the vertical bars doesn't mean anything length-wise, they are just here to help visual feedback when scrolling the envelope. - The EssenceFM has no built-in sequencer, so without a BPM a time division doesn't mean much |
