Kodamo not recognising Radium or Casio LK90-TV
Telum Atramenti | Posted on Sat 04 Jun 2022, 06:48 AM Hello folks.I wasn't sure if this should be part of "feature request" or "bug report" topic. However, I suspect it's not really a bug, but rather than Essence FM is missing some of the USB host drivers for older MIDI controllers. My Radium 49 by M-Audio and my Casio LK90-TV are not recognised as USB MIDI host devices (here's the model https://www.casio.com/products/archive/electronic-musical-instruments/lighted-keys/lk-90tv). LK90 doesn't have a MIDI port option. I could use the MIDI port in Radium, however, it is already occupied by Behringer "Neutron". I use both Neutron and Kodamo as well as Radium for my live gigs so it would be nice if Radium worked as a USB host in Essence FM. Is there any hope for getting those drivers as part of future update? Thanks. |
KODAMO | Posted on Sat 04 Jun 2022, 11:56 PM Hello,We did some research about the M-Audio Radium and unfortunately it's not MIDI-class compliant (requires special drivers) so it's impossible to make it work with the EssenceFM, as we cannot include any proprietary software in our products. Maybe you can use a MIDI box to get more In/Out/Thru and connect everything in your setup ? |
Telum Atramenti | Posted on Sun 05 Jun 2022, 06:01 AM Oh well. It just occurred to me Radium has an extra MIDI-to-USB port, and I do have a MIDI to USB adaptor cable which is recognised by EssenceFM, so there's that option I could try, perhaps it will work out. Essence FM does power up Radium via a USB hub after all. I was pretty sure that my Monoprice Stageright 37 keyboard (knockoff of Blue Whale) wouldn't be recognised as host device by Essence FM, but I tried it anyway, and I was very pleased that it indeed works with Essence FM. Which at least partially resolves my portability issue. Thank you for prompt reply though. |
